We hope this newsletter finds you in good health and high spirits. As always, we’re excited to share the latest news on our initiatives, success stories, and developments from our organisation. To all our members and partners and our potential partners out there, your unwavering support and commitment to our cause continue to inspire us every day.
On 10 November 2023, nearly half a year after the establishment of our company, the Department of Social Development granted our company its status as a non-profit organisation. It is now super exciting times we enter as it makes it so much easier to achieve our goals as an organisation. This being said funders and membership will soon be next on the agenda of the organisation. Our Executive Director and newly appointed Chairperson of the NPO and Board shared his views on this, “What was a dream once, one early winter morning, in a classroom two friends, now office bearers of the organisation, they thought – ”how can they make a telling difference in the youths’ lives and our communities, giving opportunities” – when it comes to schools, only big names get recognised and the smaller schools are left on their own, and that’s our goal to give them a platform to base their successes on. So this is another milestone reached by DR Sports & Development in achieving our successes as we gained approved NPO status. The work can now officially get started. And I’m proud to be part of this initiative.”
This approval has now opened doors for the plans in the pipeline and provides the potential funders with the necessary security to know that the organisation will use the resources available to them to make a change in communities. From grassroots to greatness – the communities of the Western Cape and South Africa will grow.
As we move ahead, the organisation has now gained its wings, which will take it to greater heights and taste victory for decades to come.
